This diploma thesis is focused on research of people with invisible disabilities’ experiences in the labour market. It consists of a theoretical part which defines concepts relevant to the topic of employment of people with invisible disabilities and determines its legislative framework and economic aspects. The analytical part of the thesis uses qualitative methods (analysis of semistructured interviews) to research working conditions for people with invisible disabilities and the reactions and barriers they face. Based on these findings, suggestions aiming to mitigate or eliminate these obstacles and negative attitudes are formulated. The suggestions are targeted at the employers of people with invisible disabilities, their colleagues and also at non-profit organisations and state administration.

This bachelor thesis entitled Analysis of stigmatization against LGBTQ+ people: a reflection of reactions regarding the murder at Zámocká explores the area of stigmatization in the context of social psychology and developmental psychology. The thesis draws on authors such as Henri Tajfel, Gordon W. Allport, Erving Goffman, and Mark A. Yarhouse, all of whom discuss concepts closely related to the process of stigmatization. The thesis further examines the sociological perspective on minorities as social groups, the perspective of social psychology on processes occurring in intergroup relationships and interactions between the majority and minority society, as well as the process of identity development and acquisition in individuals (members of marginalized minorities) in the context of the negative consequences of stigmatization. Additionally, the thesis emphasizes the reflection of theoretical knowledge through qualitative content analysis of sources related to the terrorist act on Zámocká Street, including selected media and statements from public representatives in Slovakia, with the goal of demonstrating the connection between the theoretical analysis of stigmatization and the processes taking place in Slovak society. This thesis focuses on teaching tolerance at the early childhood educational level, with a special attention to storytelling. The theoretical part presents basic sociological and psychological theories of otherness, prejudices and their dismantling. It accentuates the importance of a personal experience for reducing prejudice and features a story as a pedagogical tool, which can mediate imagined experience. The practical part brings three stories that aim to encourage tolerance among preschoolers and are written as a methodological support materials for early childhood educators. Additionally, the thesis also reflects the evaluations from five kindergarten teachers, who worked with the stories in their classes.
Content analysis of Twitter comments towards selected male and female candidates in the 2023 presidential election

This bachelor's thesis analyzes Twitter comments under the posts of three selected candidates during the 2023 presidential election. The goal is to map whether there are differences between emotions, gender stereotypes, or topics towards a particular candidate's gender, and whether these variables change reflecting the gender of Twitter users. Thematic content analysis is chosen as the research method. Data are manually collected on the Twitter platform for candidate posts. Three dates during the last month before the first round of elections are chosen for data collection. A coding method is further used for the analysis of the collected data. The results respond to six pre-selected hypotheses. The analysis is divided into three parts - a message emotion, gender aspect and progress in time. In the first part, it is shown that more comments with negative sentiment are aimed towards the female candidate, and it does not matter whether the comment is written by an anonymous or non-anonymous user. In the second part, it is confirmed that more comments with a gender aspect are aimed towards the female candidate, and they are mostly focused on appearance. The incidence of ageism from the perspective of helping workers in nursing homes

The bachelor thesis titled The occurrence of ageism from the perspective of helping workers in homes for the elderly is focused on age discrimination against the elderly. The aim of the thesis is to describe how the occurrence of ageism is manifested from the perspective of helping workers in a selected home for the elderly. The theoretical part is mainly focused on ageing and old age, ageism and care for the elderly. Subchapters elaborate on the age limits of old age, changes in old age, stereotypes and prejudices about old age and the social context of old age. They also capture the meaning of age, sources of ageism, current issues and ageism in the helping professions. Finally, they describe forms of care for the elderly, the providing of social services to the elderly, homes for the elderly, and helping workers in these facilities. The theoretical findings are followed by the empirical part of the thesis. It is carried out using a qualitative research strategy, semi-standardized interviews with helping workers from a selected home for the elderly. The aim of the research is to find out how the occurrence of ageism manifests itself from the perspective of helping workers in the selected home for the elderly.

The thesis focuses on the use of reflection in experiential pedagogy in the context of classroom collective bonding or as a solution to conflicts between students. The thesis describes experiential pedagogy and its methodology in general, and focuses on reflection, its goals, types and procedures in particular. It also does not neglect play and its educational benefits. The aim of this thesis is to design, develop and validate an experiential conflict resolution programme that could be used in practice and would help teachers in the situations mentioned to use reflection correctly both after the activities and at the end of the programme.

Islamophobia in Slovakia: fear of the unknown

The minimual amount of Muslims currently present in Slovakia are experiencing hatred towards them and Islamophobia is on the rise. Research has shown that Islamophobia is produced by prejudice and fear of the uknown. This study aims to examine factors which contribute to the negative perception of refugees in Slovakia and what contributes to the rise in Islamophobia. It builds to extend the work of other scholars which have previously looked into this issue, by testing the theory and combining numerous factors together. This study therefore asks: Do economic factors and the influence of news outlets and political parties lead to negative perceptions of Muslims and therefore support Islamophobia in Slovakia? Based on this question, primary and secondary qualitivave research was conducted to test to which extent media, politics and economic situation affect perception of refugees. Analysis of responces indicated that the biggest factors contributing to Islamophobia was prejudice conducted and spread by news oultets and politians, with economic economy playing a big role in people perceived safety of their welfare first.
